Safeguarding Train the Trainer course

I completed the safeguarding training with Debbie, who kept the training upbeat and engaging at all times. Considering the training is based around a lot of legislation Debbie manged to make it interesting and fun. She was very approachable and down to earth with a wealth of knowledge. They (Alium) really are one of the very best out there.

Bluebird Care operates across 6 different countries, with approx. 240 locations. We have used Alium Care Training for the past couple of years, initially to oversee our provision of Train the Trainer courses. Despite working with the challenges that are present when operating with a large franchise network and during a pandemic, nothing has been too much effort or too much work for Sangita and her team. I thoroughly enjoyed the BLS Train the Trainer course that I completed with Alium last week. I was completely new to this but found that the Trainer broke down the course well, making it understandable and easy to apply. The Trainer was knowledgeable and able to answer questions and my director, who overheard some of the course, said she could understand what was being taught as well.

The Trainer gave me confidence to create my own training for staff, which I have begun to put together and I am looking forward to completing the medication and manual handling training in the near future.

A was extremely nervous about the mini session and also not very well. I spoke to on her own and suggested that when she was better I would arrange to observe her mini session but she said she wanted to try. Unfortunately she observed other delegates deliver first who did excellent sessions which made her more nervous, so she started delivery but then froze so she stopped. After I caught up with her and asked if she wanted to arrange another time but asked if she get it over with and deliver to me now. A was nervous and that did come across but she got through the presentation and we did the activities we had agreed on and it went fine. However, before she delivers, she needs to read around subject area and also needs to shadow other trainers, produce her own lesson plan, materials etc. I also suggest she co-delivers small sections of the course to get her confidence up

I found the instructor was very knowledgeable about the topic. She was very friendly and welcoming, and she said a few times “there is no silly questions” this made me feel at ease when asking questions

I learned lots from the training and now feel confident in writing my own lesson plan, learning aims and giving a lesson on moving and handling to new and existing staff.

Massive improvement in confidence from last TTT session, A has developed a good understanding of the training process and has excellent knowledge of M&P. Her mini session was interactive and she was a lot less nervous then last time. Still advise she co-delivers with main trainer till her confidence increases but has potential to be a great trainer as she is knowledge and friendly, bubbly and approachable. I attended TTT Basic Life Support in June 2022 with Alium Care. It was by far one of the best courses I have been on.
