Course Content

The Wound Assessment course looks at what a wound is and the different types of wounds categorisation. It provides an understanding of the management process, including assessment, treatment, and healing of the wound. It includes:

  • What is a wound?
  • Recognition of the different types of wounds.
  • The healing process, and factors that affect this.
  • Appropriate dressings.
  • Wound management.
  • Importance of record keeping and accurate documentation.

Please note: this course complements The Pressure Sore Awareness course, as well as the Nutrition and Hydration Awareness course.

Assessment: Ongoing observation and end of session Activity. Each delegate will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
