Infection Control Train the Trainer Course

COURSE OUTLINE

This 2 day Train the Trainer Infection Prevention & Control course provides delegates with the skills, knowledge and confidence to become an effective Trainer in this subject and ensures that the delivery of an Infection Prevention & Control course is impactful so staff fully understand and apply their learnings into working practices. This then supports the organisation to maintain CQC compliance. It also explains how to maintain Trainers own CPD requirements.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Definition of infection prevention and control

  • Different types of germs and infection
  • Health Care Associated Infections (HCAI)
  • The importance of infection control and the management of HCAI
  • Effective hand washing techniques
  • Effective use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • How Infection can be Prevented based on current guidance
  • The importance of following company policies and procedures

Train the Trainer Elements

  • Confidence in presentation skills
  • Setting ground rules
  • Teaching methods
  • How to encourage delegates to effectively learn, retain and apply information
  • Learning styles
  • Assessment techniques
  • Evaluation and CPD including some do’s and don’ts

Slides for the Code of Practice element are always supplied but we do not supply the slides for the topic content for the Infection Control course as this defeats the object of teaching the delegates to be independent thinkers.  During this section delegates are encouraged to assimilate content presented, take notes and then reassemble content from their observations to modify or create their own presentation for onward training.

Please note that ‘Live Learning’ and ‘Virtual Face to Face Learning’ use online video conferencing which has become the norm following the Covid-19 outbreak.  This requires fully functioning cameras and mics to enable the training to be delivered effectively and to avoid delay or disturbance to others.  Kindly check sound and cameras prior to commencing the course.
