Description

Course Content 

Eating problems and disorders are increasingly common. This course develops the competence and confidence of carers and foster parents to work positively with older children and teenagers who have or are at risk of developing eating problems.  

The course covers: 

  1. Knowing what normal healthy eating is and looks like 

  1. Knowing what causes eating disorders 

  1. Understanding the different types of eating disorders 

  1. How to identify the signs and symptoms of an eating disorder 

  1. Knowing how eating disorders are diagnosed  

  1. Knowing how to help an older child or teenager who may be at risk of or have an eating problem 

 

This course can also be tailored to your needs.

Assessment: Ongoing observation and end of session activity. Each delegate will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Requirements: In order to gain the most out of the sessions, we request that the delegates remain on the course throughout and, where possible, a quiet area be allocated to save distraction.
