Course Content
The Nutrition and Hydration course aims to raise awareness of best practice in relation to healthy living and the role of nutrition and hydration. It looks at the nutrient content of food and its function in supporting the body of the client supported. It also covers the signs and symptoms of dehydration and the importance of regular fluid intake. It covers staff responsibility to ensure sufficient uptake of food and drink by each client and explore strategies to full fil this role. It includes the following elements:
- The importance of good nutrition and hydration for each client
- What constitutes undernourishment and dehydration
- Identifying practical ways to enable clients to consume nutritional meals drink by exploring best practice approaches that enhance client wellbeing.

Assessment: Ongoing observation and end of session Activity. Each delegate will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
