Course Content

This Manual Handling course aims to support staff to understand the key concepts of moving and handling of objects in a safe way. It follows the requirements set out by the health and safety executives.

This course covers the following elements:

  • Defining manual handling and explain the common causes of injury
  • Understanding the legal responsibilities and the duties placed on employers and employees
  • Being able to recognise manual handling hazards
  • Hot to carry out a risk assessment
  • Understand and know how to use best ways to handle loads to maintain a safe working environment
  • Some do’s and don’ts of manual handling of loads.

Assessment: Ongoing observation and end of session activity. Each delegate will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Requirements:  In order to gain the most out of the sessions, we request that the delegates remain on the course throughout and, where possible, a quiet area be allocated to save distraction.
