COURSE OUTLINE
This 2 day Train the Trainer Autism course provides delegates with the skills, knowledge and confidence to become an effective Trainer in this subject and ensures that the delivery of an Autism course is impactful so staff fully understand and apply their learnings into working practices. This then supports the organisation to maintain Regulatory Compliance. It also explains how to maintain Trainers own CPD requirements.
As a new start up we wanted to ensure our training program was to a high standard. After speaking with multiple training providers, I got the impression they were just there to fill up slots. However upon speaking with Alium Care Training, they took the time to understand my needs and provided a plan of action. We have since completed our training and were amazed at how valuable it was, it also gave us the confidence to deliver the best training possible that reinforced our policies and procedures. This Course will Cover:
- Definition of Autism is and how it forms a part of the Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).
- Recognition of the main characteristics of behaviour for people on the ASC.
- Understand the triad of impairment.
- Identify strategies to care for and support clients who live with the condition.
- Understand the Legislative requirements.
- The use of reflective practice and continuous development to improve the care and support provided.
- Application of the learnings into practice, identifying clear examples of best practice.
Train the Trainer Elements
- Confidence in presentation skills
- Setting ground rules
- Teaching methods
- How to encourage delegates to effectively learn, retain and apply information in a confident and empowering way
- Learning styles
- Assessment techniques
- Evaluation and CPD including some do’s and don’ts
Delegates will be provided with key pieces of information and asked to take notes so as to encourage and enable them to modify/create their own bespoke session based on their audience needs and learning styles. They will be supported throughout the session to do this.
* All one-day refresher courses cover updates and support reflective practice plus continuous professional development to help delegates to improve and update their delivery. We also provide support and guidance for any challenges faced.
