METHODS OF DELIVERY

Alium use a range of delivery methods to ensure that all training is highly impactful, fully effective and leaves delegates with a clear action plan for application of learnings within their working practices. This includes interactive tutor-led virtual classrooms with break out rooms where delegates have the opportunity to share experiences, network and learn from each other (as would be experienced with face to face delivery). We also offer onsite face to face training (where guidance permits) and provide a blended approach of these delivery methods.

This is an exciting offer for a 3-day FULLY FUNDED LEAD TO SUCCEED leadership programme developed by Skills for Care specifically for the social care sector.

Alium Care Training is endorsed by Skills for Care as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ as a mark of our commitment to providing high quality, impactful learning and development for the adult social care sector.

The ‘Lead to Succeed’ Programme is designed to help aspiring leaders and managers to develop their leadership and management potential, teach how successful behaviours and practical strategies can support leaders in their day to day work and consider how these behaviours and strategies can be implemented now and in the future.

It covers:

  • Successful behaviours for leaders and managers
  • Developing a positive culture
  • Effective supervision
  • Leading and managing the process of change as well as the inspection process.

It complements the Manager Induction Standards and Level 4 Certificate in Principles of Leadership and Management in Adult Social Care but can be taken as a stand-alone course. Completing the ASC -WDF (Nmds-sc) is a requirement of the funding, we can help with this if required.  Should you require assistance with this then please contact us.

LATEST REVIEWS FOR THIS PROGRAMME:

“The “Lead to Succeed” and “Well Led” Programmes, supported our leaders in developing their skills . Alium Training got to know us as a company and specifically created bespoke exercises to support individual roles and responsibilities. The workshops were engaging, interesting and motivated our leaders, at a key time, to be more effective and work together to ensure we as a company deliver a well led service. Alium Care’s passion for the quality of what they deliver was evident in the sessions and support given to us”    Helen Suter, Talent Specialist – Care, Anchor Hanover

“One of my Team recently attended Alium Care Training’s ‘Skills for Care Lead to Succeed Programme’.  I just wanted to say how impactful the programme has been.  There is clear evidence of a significant boost in her strategic thinking. She was clearly inspired with the course content and delivery style.  Following the course, this person has produced a business plan for a new business project and has subsequently been seconded into a more senior role leading that project. I am happy to recommend the Alium Care Training and indeed we have booked a further 3 places onto this programme.”    Jon Stanley, Chief Operations Officer, CHD Living

I have never been on a training like this one, and I don't think I have learnt as much as I have here anywhere else.
Lead to succeed was an eye opener to shift my perspective from having a 1 track mind to having a whole new outlook of solution-based leadership in the organisation. In short it trained me to wake up and drive my own bus in order to contribute towards the success of completing the organisations values.
Reflection taught me to always stop and think before going on blindly into things. It made me realise that there is always more to what we do as leaders, and I can say the tip of the iceberg always needs to be analysed so we understand where behaviour comes from.
The most important for me was the setting of SMART targets to achieve one's goals. It supports efficient time management and takes the stress off being overwhelmed by my daily tasks. It taught me to set realist goals, so I have pressure to achieve them and a clear direction.
Thank you Alium Care Training team for the training. Putting us in groups helped me know my team better and more of this should help us work together better as we saw different sides of each other today.
There is much to learn, and I am open to learning because I know we all are going in 1 direction with Woodleigh, and we are not there YET, but we will get there.

- Damelza , Woodleigh Healthcare Ltd

Today's session was very interesting and helpful to my job role. I understand the Change Management process in Module 4 and how it works around the workplace, being a good leader, how to be a role model and support staff with any concerns that arise during the shift. In Module 5 - Understanding different aspects of inspection, what I can do for staff to identify what CQC are expecting or looking for during their inspection. I will make a flyers or poster about the 5 key lines of CQC inquiry and staff needs to know what are CQC are expecting to achieve a good or even an outstanding rating. I have learnt what to prioritise; the urgent and important first and eliminate the things that are not required. I am looking forward to attending the day 2 session and reflect on the things I've learnt to all the staff at St Ives House. Thank you.

- Jose Robles, Care Team Leader, St. Ives Country House Care

I must say I was apprehensive at first regarding the course and what to expect, mainly due to a lack of information regarding what the programme involved, but the trainer (Sangita) was nice and explained the programme and what to expect. Initially, I wondered what more I could learn having already undertaken similar courses, but I found the training good and insightful. The training really made me reflect not only in relation to myself, but also my colleagues, those I lead and the company in general. I also loved the phrases used as it really gets you thinking about standards and expectations. I’m looking forward to the rest of the course.

- Joanne Powell, Care Supervisor, Care South at Home

We have just completed the Lead to Succeed training which we found to be interesting and resulted in us being more enthusiastic about our jobs as a result. For me, once I’d finished my Level 5 Diploma, I thought that was it! However, this course with Alium has given me another perspective and made me reflect on my daily work more – particularly at the end of our shift. It has been eye opening and will also enable me to carry out my job more effectively whilst dealing with the work culture and challenging staff at the same time. We have done just 2 modules but are already totally engaged and interested in the scenarios that we can now utilise in our real work experiences. Thank you for the opportunity of being included in this live learning course.

- Jose Robles, Care Team Leader, St. Ives Country House Care , Care South at Home

I have never done reflective learning, however I felt the training here, really empowered us all to reflect on our own practices and things that we can try to benefit us as leaders, as well as empowering our teams and services users and their families to make it a more inclusive and productive environment for us all. It really solidified the need for openness, teamwork and drawing on the skills of others to really support everyone to be the best they can be. I have taken on board many new practices and will be certainly sharing them with everyone. I have my action plans and a clear structure in how I am going to implement them and have given myself a fair timescale for me to be able to achieve these effectively. Thank you so much for all your support

- Hanna, Care Team Leader, St Ives House, Care South at Home

Having just completed the 3 day “lead to succeed” course with Alium care, I recommend anyone within leadership roles to enrol. It was thought provoking, challenging and fun. It takes you out of your comfort zone, question your current practices and approach, and then gentle returns you, with enhanced confidence. The introduction of action plans, personal profiles and supervision agenda’s will certainly support my professional approach, whilst empowering my team. Thank you Alium Care.

- Dave Seyler, General Manager, Gold Care Services Ltd

The programme’s content was very impactful and Sangita was very engaging, motivating and ensured she built your confidence as a Leader and Manager. She shared lots of material to help me understand the course content. I gained new knowledge and will definitely put into practice what I’ve learned. Would highly recommend Alium Care Training.

- Rose Uwaleke Boleka, Registered Manager, SeeAbility Surrey Views, Leatherhead

I am new to my role as a registered manager and this programme has given me the confidence, drive and tools to continually improve all aspects of service delivery and leadership.

The delivery was fantastic. I was engaged throughout, my understanding was checked, and I felt comfortable asking questions if I wasn’t sure. The content of the course was great and the notes I’ve written are going to be a valuable resource moving forward.

I particularly benefitted from the focus on action planning. It is essential for me to develop a culture of continual improvement and I can’t wait to put what I’ve learnt into practice!’

- Jack Elsdon, Registered Manager, Independent Lives

Thank you for being the first and best facilitator to take me through this journey of becoming a successful leader.

I came to this course not knowing what to expect and you made it seem easy to understand. I liked the how you prepared me to lead change in my organisation , can not wait to start putting the things I learnt into action. You articulated supervision so well that I can not wait to take my staff on board so we can meet this legislative requirement .You are very Knowledgeable, and I like your style, firm but fair. You have and I believe you will continue to make a huge impact on me in helping me in my role as a good leader. You also helped me believe in myself, because sometimes I think I do not appreciate myself enough. Can not wait to go on the next course with you.

- Sibongile Dokotera, Registered Manager, Care Moments Healthcare
