Duration: Â Â 3 hours
Delegates:Â Â Up to 12
Assessment:Â Ongoing observation and full engagement in the practical activity. Each delegate will be expected to demonstrate the Course Learnings throughout the session, to gain a Certificate of Attendance.

Requirements: Â In order to gain the most out of the sessions, we request thatdelegates remain on the course throughout and that a quiet area is allocated to avoid distraction.
Who is This Course For?
The ‘Safeguarding and Whistle Blowing’ course is aimed at all team members who work in the care and support of service users.
Course Content
The course is intended to ensure that delegates understand what constitutes abuse and harm, how people may be at risk, and why this risk may arise,. It enables delegates to identify types of abuse and harm. The course specifically looks at the role and accountability of staff in the reporting process, examining the legislative requirements and the application of company policy in dealing with adult safeguarding and whistleblowing.

The aims of the course are to:Â
- Understand and explain what constitutes abuse; and harm
- Understand when adults may be considered at risk, and how this occurs;
- Identify some indicators of abuse and harm;
- Explain the factors to consider in establishing whether a situation has the potential to be harmful;
- Gain awareness of the ‘Safeguarding Adults’ pathways principles and how to apply these into working practices
- Know when and to whom potential abuse, neglect or harm should be reported
- Understand the legislative requirements of safeguarding and whistleblowing;
- Understand the application of the company’s ‘Whistleblowing policy;
- Understand the importance of treating all people with fairness and respect and working in a way that fully complies with all aspects of the Equality Act 2010
